Prepared by: Charity Helpers Foundation
Date: 2025-06-14
Version: 1.0

---

**CONCEPT SUMMARY**
Tug Orb is a strategic team sport focused on strength, coordination, and area control. Two teams compete to move a central heavy object (“Orb”) into their scoring zone by using ropes and team positioning.

---

**REQUIRED EQUIPMENT**

- A large weighted object (the “Orb”), such as a tire or medicine ball
- 4–6 long ropes attached to the Orb
- Markers or cones to define the play zone
- Stopwatch for timed matches

---

**FIELD LAYOUT**

- Circular or square play zone (approx. 10–15 meters wide)
- Neutral starting point in center for the Orb
- Team scoring zones on opposite sides

---

**PLAYER ROLES**

- 3–5 players per team
- 1 referee to monitor fouls and progress

---

**GAME OBJECTIVE**

Be the first team to pull the Orb fully into your scoring zone using only the ropes and body positioning. Time limits can be used to add urgency.

---

**BASIC RULES**

1. All ropes must remain attached to the Orb.
2. No player may touch the Orb with hands or feet.
3. Players may not cross into the opposing team’s zone.
4. If the Orb leaves the field, it is reset to center.
5. First team to drag the Orb into their zone wins the match.

---

**VARIATIONS / SCALING IDEAS**

- **Tug Timed**: If no team scores in time, nearest zone wins
- **Obstacle Zone**: Add light hurdles or slippery mats
- **One-Hand Rule**: All players use one hand only
- **4-Way Tug**: Add two more teams at perpendicular zones

---

**STAT TRACKING SUGGESTIONS**

- Time to win
- Number of resets
- Team fouls
- Scoring zone entries

---

**NOTES**
Tug Orb is ideal for outdoor group competition, especially where rugged play is encouraged. It rewards strategic coordination more than brute strength. Team-building environments benefit especially from its cooperative challenge.
